Magdala is right by the Sea of Galilee (Tiberius) and Capernum and should be a stop when you visit these areas. There is not enough to see in Magdala though to make a special trip. But the drive is easy and you don't need a tour guide here. In Galilee and Capernum a guide would be helpful.
