Iran launched retaliatory missile strikes on Israel into Saturday morning, killing at least three people and wounding dozens, after a series of blistering Israeli attacks on the heart of Iran’s nuclear program and its armed forces.

Iran has fired two waves of missiles into Israel overnight. Another set of strikes near Tel Aviv killed a 60-year-old woman, according to the Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA). A further 20 people have been injured in the same area, as well as 24 people in the Judean Foothills, a spokesperson for the MDA added.

Israel’s airstrikes against Iranian nuclear and military facilities are the latest geopolitical shock to global financial markets that had just recovered from US President Donald Trump’s tariffs. Israel used 200 air force planes in the massive attack that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said “struck at the heart of Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.
