One after another shocking twists and turns abound in the second half of Netflix’s ‘The Sandman’ Season 2. The season opens in the aftermath of Orpheus’ death at the hands of his father, Morpheus, who must now prepare to pay the price for spilling family blood.
At the end of Season 2 of The Sandman, Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) faced the fate of spilling Endless family blood by killing his son, Orpheus, which, in turn, led to the accession of Daniel, who took on Morpheus’ powers.
Matthew the Raven, a loyal servant of Morpheus, perseveres through the loss in his own manner. In The Sandman Season 2 Episode 11, his dialogue is more subdued but rich. He represents a loyalist—one who clings to the old order and finds the new reality difficult to accept. Matthew doesn’t shun Daniel, but evidently hasn’t accepted him either.
