Kash Patel and Dan Bongino promised to release a surveillance video showing no one entered the convicted sex offender’s jail cell before he was found dead in 2019.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said the bureau plans to release a new video to prove that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in federal custody. The announcement is intended to quash conspiracy theories that Epstein was the target of an orchestrated killing.

While officials in the first Trump administration ruled Epstein’s death a suicide, many Americans do not believe the official version of events. Bongino himself, who was a right-wing podcaster prior to being tapped for the FBI job, spread vague conspiracy theories about Epstein being murdered.
