Ohtani has not pitched since August of 2023 when he tore his UCL while with the Los Angeles Angels. Roberts was a bit more optimistic about Ohtani's timeline this offseason, saying that he could be back on the mound by May.

During the 2023 campaign with the Dodgers, Ohtani hit 54 home runs, drove in 130 RBI's, and recorded a slash line of .310/.390/.646. His numbers are remarkable throughout his career, but his personality and character stand out even more.
