The Royals welcome the Atlanta Braves to Kauffman Stadium on Monday night. KC left-hander Rich Hill (0-1, 1.80 ERA) will make his second MLB start of the season opposite right-handed Braves ace Spencer Strider (4-8, 3.72 ERA).

In the bottom of the inning, the Royals wasted a leadoff walk from Maikel Garcia followed by a Salvador Perez single. Jac Caglianone grounded into a double play and then exited the game with left hamstring tightness.

Brayan Rocchio opened the inning with a double. Austin Hedges moved him to third with a bunt and Kwan unloaded on a 2-2 curveball for his ninth homer of the season and a 6-2 lead. The homer was the longest of Kwan’s career and his third in the last three games. It must mean his strained right wrist is starting to feel better.

Friday's Cleveland Guardians at Kansas City Royals game was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday.

The Royals chipped into the Guardians' lead behind home runs from Freddy Fermin and Bobby Witt Jr. Fermin's came in the second inning, when he belted an 87 mph cutter into the Guardians' bullpen for his third home run of the season.

When the Kansas City Royals host the Cleveland Guardians in the rubber match of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon, both teams will have plenty on their minds.
