The pilot of a regional airliner flying from MPS to Minot, N.D. made an unexpected sharp turn to avoid a possible midair collision with a military B-52 bomber that was in its flight path.
After the passenger jet landed safely in North Dakota, the pilot told passengers that he had made an “aggressive maneuver” to avoid hitting a military aircraft.
What Kadrmas also wound up catching was faint footage of Delta Flight 3788, which is operated by SkyWest, heading into the same airspace as the bomber. “I didn’t think this would be a disaster at the time as the smaller plane was difficult to see from the stands," he said.
Some of Minot’s elected officials are beginning to call for answers following a near-miss between a B-52 and a commercial plane Friday night in Minot.
