Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard confirmed that he had previously talked with Star Wars creator George Lucas after he was offered to take over the directing duties for 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Ultimately, Howard was taken in as a hired gun who re-shot most of the film. While the result didn't fully appeal to fans, Solo is not a bad movie. It just feels like it lacks dramatic depth.
