The US mission in India on Friday said it issued more than one million nonimmigrant visas for the second year in a row, including a record number of visitor visas, underscoring the huge demand of Indians for travel to the US.

As per the official statement issued by the US Embassy in New Delhi, India emerged as the top sender of international students in 2024 with over 331,000 students enrolled across the 50 states.

In 2024, the US issued over one million visas to Indians, who became the top international students. Visa renewals and processing efficiency improved, alongside the removal of the two-year residency requirement for Indian exchange visitors.
