Three former Virginia Beach sheriff's deputies charged with second-degree murder in the death of Rolin Hill have turned themselves in to authorities, according to the Virginia Beach Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney.

The deputies restrained the man after he was “uncooperative and combative” while being booked into the jail, officials said. He was hospitalized after a “medical emergency” and died days later.

Three former sheriff’s deputies in Virginia are charged with second-degree murder over the death of a man they restrained at a local jail.

All three ex-deputies were charged with second-degree murder in the June death of inmate Rolin Hill. Two also were indicted on assault charges.

Rolin Hill died less than a week after suffering a medical emergency at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.

The charges come after a special grand jury heard evidence regarding Mr. Hill’s arrest and booking into the Virginia Beach Correctional Center, according to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office.

Eric Baptiste, 39, is charged with second-degree murder and five counts of assault and battery; Michael Kidd, 39, is charged with second-degree murder and two counts of assault and battery; and Kevin Wilson, 34, is charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to the release.

Police were able to track the suspect's vehicle and arrested him less than an hour after the initial call for the shooting came in Monday.

Jeremiah Quinones was arrested within an hour of the shooting after police broadcast a detailed description about him and his vehicle.
