The University of Wisconsin football program used to handle the majority of its business on the field. More than 1,200 fans weighed in on X about who’s to blame in the Xavier Lucas situation that’s put the Wisconsin Badgers in the national spotlight.

The lawsuit, reported Friday by Yahoo Sports, alleges UM ‘interfered with UW-Madison's relationship with Student-Athlete A [Lucas]' by making impermissible contact with him and engaging in tampering.

Wisconsin denied a request from Lucas to enter the transfer portal in December, citing his previously signed revenue-sharing agreement. That document, dated Dec. 2, is part of the proof from the Badgers, who also attest Lucas was under contract for a separate NIL-related deal.
