Nearly 8,000 still without power per Dominion Energy, Aiken Electric as of 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 following Tropical Storm Helene, on Day 11 without power.

Tropical Storm Helene's wrath is still claiming South Carolinians. As cleanup continues and power outages linger, the number killed as a result of the storm is almost 50.

Aiken Public Safety administrators say so far, there are no impacts within Aiken County from Hurricane Helene, other than rain. But they are prepared in case there might be.

Dominion reported 8,583 of its 62,038 Aiken County customers remain without power as of 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6. In Edgefield County, 1,419 out of 7,565 customers are without service. The outage map indicates 6,
