SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a large fire on top of a landfill Thursday morning. According to officials, just after 5 a.m., crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Bob Foeller Drive for reports of a two-alarm fire. While enroute to the scene on Route 58, fire crews said smoke and flames were visible.

While the trash fire is out, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Chief Michael Barakey warns those with respiratory issues should be aware of the area for the next few days.
