Every so often, a video of a singer delivering the national anthem goes viral, and not for a good reason. It just happened again. This time, it was country music star Ingrid Andress’ rendition before the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby on Monday.

Ironically, a song that the Nobel laureate wrote in 1905 to call for the unity of Bengal amid the British move to partition the province became the anthem of a nation born out of its division, several decades later.
