The Toronto Maple Leafs should get a better idea of how far they have rebounded from their recent slump when they host the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night.

The luck of the Irish was with the Toronto Maple Leafs in their recent contest. Taking on a hungry Calgary Flames squad, the Maple Leafs' offense exploded. Led by their captain, Auston Matthews, they scored six goals on the Flames and handed Calgary their seventh loss in the last nine games.

Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube watched an angry group walk through the door Monday morning. Toronto was coming off a pair of tight losses to Atlantic Division rivals as part of an ugly run that had seen the club drop five of its last six games.
