The funeral for former Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. ET, Nov. 20, at the Washington National Cathedral.

Since the 12th Amendment separated out the votes for president and vice president only two sitting vice presidents have been elected president: Martin Van Buren (1836) and George H.W. Bush (1988). Both had unsuccessful presidencies and lost when running for reelection.

For that, she was stripped of her Republican leadership position and ultimately defeated in a 2022 Republican primary in Wyoming. In a campaign TV ad made for his daughter, Dick Cheney branded Trump a “coward” who “tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him.”
