Daniil Medvedev continued his quest for a first ATP title since 2023 after easing into the Washington Open quarter-finals with a straight-sets victory over Yibing Wu.
Corentin Moutet survived all kinds of drama against the former world no. 1 Daniil Medvedev in Washington. The Frenchman provided a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in an hour and 25 minutes of an entertaining battle.
After a couple of years toiling on the Challenger Circuit and then on the ATP, Moutet has put together some strong showings in 2025. The Frenchman has found a niche as a thorn-in-the-side player, and has used that style to upset two top-10 opponents (Taylor Fritz, Holger Rune) in the last three months.
