German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he was staying "cool" in comments published by the German magazine Stern, after critical personal comments made by Elon Musk last year. Musk came under fire for backing the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in an opinion piece in a German newspaper in December.

Germany's vice chancellor said Musk's comments calling the far-right AfD a "last spark of hope" weren't made out of ignorance.
