The families of hostages held in Gaza have faced a 20-month-long nightmare. As they try to advocate for their loved ones’ fates, they have been confronted with the whims of Israeli and Hamas leaders and the other crises that have engulfed the Middle East.

The remains of three more hostages held in the Gaza Strip have been recovered, the Israeli military said Sunday, as strikes continued on the Palestinian territory.

Qatar is working to facilitate indirect talks between Israel and Hamas with the goal of a ceasefire and the release of hostages.
