A U.S. tourist who was visiting Puerto Rico for Bad Bunny's residency was fatally shot early Sunday at La Perla, police said.

Kevin Mares was caught in the crossfire of a shooting in Puerto Rico while on vacation to see a Bad Bunny concert.

All the shows, which feature music from his sixth studio album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” are taking place at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan. So, fans, including many famous faces, have been traveling to the capital city to see Bad Bunny perform live.

Authorities in Puerto Rico say a 37-year-old man has turned himself into police and was charged in the recent killing of a tourist from the U.S. mainland who had flown to the island for Bad Bunny’s residency.

Kalel Jorell Martínez Bristol, 38, was arrested and arraigned in Puerto Rico Friday on first-degree murder charges for allegedly shooting 25-year-old Kevin Mares, an innocent bystander standing

The shooting happened in the predawn hours on Sunday in the popular seaside shantytown of La Perla near Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Thousands descended on Puerto Rico for the singer's concert residency this summer, boosting the island's fragile economy.
