Amanda Knox has reacted to the actress who plays her in the new Hulu limited series “The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox.” Knox lauded Grace Van Patten for the portrayal, telling People that her performance gave her “chills,” and Van Patten has the “ability to just take on the whimsy but the gravitas of this role.”

Grace Van Patten stars as the American student infamously and falsely accused of murdering her roommate, in a drama executive produced by Monica Lewinsky and Knox herself.

The eight-episode series, which premieres on Aug. 20, follows Knox’s arrival in Italy as a study abroad student, the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher and Knox’s criminal trials, in which she was accused of killing her roommate with her then-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito.
