A Motel 6 tenant was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon after pointing a gun at Garland police officers and a standoff with SWAT, according to authorities. Garland police were called to the Motel 6 located at 12721 LBJ Freeway for a disturbance between a hotel tenant,

Officers entered the room and found Burt dead. A second deceased person, Donald Bailey Sr., 69, was also discovered inside, police said. Investigators believe that Burt died from an apparent gunshot wound and "had been deceased for several hours" prior to the shooting, according to police.
