Officials in Bergen County are paying tribute to U.S. Army cadet Neil Edara, originally from Ridgewood, who died during a training exercise July 24.

Neil Edara, of Ridgewood, N.J., "became unresponsive while conducting Land Navigation Training" on Thursday, July 24, at Fort Knox, U.S. Army Cadet Command said in a statement on Saturday, July 26.

Neil Edara, 22, and a Rutgers senior majoring in biological sciences, was taking part in Land Navigation Training as part of the 9th Regiment, Advanced Camp.
