In addition to the warmth, severe storms will be possible overnight  Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday afternoon and evening. It was a hot and humid Saturday. Highs reached into the low 90s with a heat index hitting 100°.

Damaging winds and large hail are forecast for the Plains and the Midwest, and the remnants of Tropical Storm Alvin could bring excessive rainfall and flash flooding.

Heavy rains producing torrential downpours continue to move across the region Friday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood warning until 6 p.m. for East Central Allegheny County.
