The Red Sox shook up their bullpen on Tuesday, calling up a left-hander ahead of the series finale against the Orioles.

Cora made good on that final promise on Monday night, as Lowe came in to pinch-hit in the ninth inning against Baltimore Orioles closer Yennier Cano. He drew a seven-pitch walk and scored on a Jarren Duran double, but Boston still lost 6-3.

On Monday, Lowe signed a prorated league minimum contract with the Red Sox for the remainder of the season. The deal presents only upside for Boston, with the team hopeful he can produce more in line with his career numbers and fill a need as a lefthanded platoon bat.
