SEATTLE, Washington (Reuters) -Inter Milan scored twice in the last 18 minutes to beat River Plate 2-0 on Wednesday and progress to the knockout stage of the Club World Cup as Group E winners and send the Argentines home.

Inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory over River Plate to advance to the Club World Cup's second round. Francesco Pio Esposito scored in the 72nd minute on Wednesday night's match, just after River Plate’s Lucas Martínez Quarta received a red card.

River Plate’s crowd stole the show Wednesday night at Lumen Field, but Inter Milan eliminated the Argentine power from the Club World Cup with a 2-0 win.
