In a departure that took almost as long as Siri needs to find some obscure music requests, Apple has announced a new vice president of AI: Amar Subramanya, who will replace former AI chief John Giannandrea.

Taking the reins is Amar Subramanya, Apple's newly crowned VP of AI. If his name sounds familiar, that's because he's spent nearly two decades shaping AI at Google, then hopped to Microsoft's AI division this summer before being scooped up by Apple.
