More lake effect snow is coming to west and northern Michigan and the UP Monday evening, Dec. 1, the National Weather Service forecasts.
The advisory was issued for Cheboygan, Chippewa, Mackinac and Charlevoix counties. "Heaviest lake effect snow has weakened, and therefore the advisory will be allowed to expire," according to the National Weather Service.
There are 15 counties in Michigan under winter weather alerts because of a chance to get up to 12 inches of snow.
