Sepp Straka won The American Express by two shots over Justin Thomas on Sunday, finishing his third career PGA Tour victory at 25-under 263 with a final-round 70.

Alex Yang, who turns 17 later this month, was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer nearly a year ago. On Sunday, for the final round of the 66th edition of the American Express, Alex got to be the standard bearer.

The No. 223-ranked New Zealander birdied the final two holes to shoot 2-under 70 and take a one-stroke lead into the final round.

Straka remained aggressive and stayed well in front while hunting down a comfortable two-shot victory over Justin Thomas. The 31-year-old from Austria finished the 54-hole tourney at 25-under-par 263 with a final round of 2-under 70 on the Pete Dye Stadium Course at PGA West.
