Purdy made the starting quarterback spot his own. He played 48 games across four seasons and threw 12,170 passing yards and 81 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also gained 1,177 rushing yards and scored 19 touchdowns. Despite those impressive numbers, nobody was prepared to offer Purdy a rookie contract.
Earlier this month, 49ers owner Jed York confirmed that the team had met with Brock Purdy’s representation now that the quarterback is eligible for a second contract.
Purdy kept the 49ers injury-plagued offense afloat in 2024, throwing for 3,864 yards and 20 touchdowns over 15 games. His season ended prematurely in Week 17 after he suffered a right elbow contusion with nerve inflammation, but he's expected to be ready to go for the start of the 2025 campaign.
