Millions of people across the country protested the Trump administration across on Saturday, including in Austin.

Troops have already been deployed to Los Angeles and San Antonio. Nationwide protests are planned for Saturday.

Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed he is deploying the National Guard to Texas cities with planned anti-ICE protests, which have followed those in LA.

Texas DPS said the protest started peacefully, but that some protestors began to engage in unlawful activity, including graffiti, upon reaching the J.J. Pickle Federal Building.

City leaders held a press conference at Austin City Hall Thursday morning about the city’s preparations ahead of protests planned for the weekend.
