The Seattle Mariners are fighting for a wild card spot right now, and Cal Raleigh is a huge part of that. He is having a historic season and just joined Barry Bonds in an exclusive club.

That blast set a new American League record for home runs before the All-Star break, eclipsing the 37 hit by Chris Davis of the Baltimore Orioles back in 2013. That also puts Raleigh one shy of the MLB record set by Barry Bonds, who belted 39 home runs before the All-Star break back in 2001.

Cal Raleigh moved within one home run of Barry Bonds’ 2001 record for homers before the All-Star break, and the Seattle Mariners beat Detroit on Friday night.
