Two firefighters were fatally shot and a third is seriously injured after investigators say a lone gunman opened fire on crews responding to a brush fire on Canfield Mountain on Sunday, near Coeur d’ Alene,

Two firefighters were killed and residents were ordered to shelter in place, but the order was lifted after police found a dead man in the woods.

"When a community prays together, that's what we can do," Fr.  Len MacMillian said. "It's not a solution, but it's a better way of life."
