Commanders QB Jayden Daniels explained the rationale behind his rushing touchdown in Monday's preseason loss against the Bengals.
On second-and-9 from Cincinnati's 14-yard line, Daniels dropped back to pass, but his options were all covered. He decided to run the ball and scrambled up the middle through the Bengals' defense and even split three defenders before getting into the end zone for a touchdown. It was a brilliant run.
Daniels danced out of the pocket and scrambled for a 14-yard touchdown to cap his preseason performance against the Bengals after just four plays.
The Commanders' first-string offense played one series, starting with a Samuel run and ending with a Daniels rushing touchdown.
