Experts say vitamin A can mitigate measles but does not protect those who are unvaccinated from getting the disease, and RFK Jr. says immunization is a "freedom of choice."

In Texas specifically, a total of 223 people have contracted measles since the outbreak began in January, with at least 29 people, mostly children, requiring hospitalization. One child, who was unvaccinated, has died from measles, while a second unvaccinated person’s death is currently being investigated by health officials.

Kennedy Jr. has praised the benefits of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine. But he has also touted the benefits of vitamin A, cod liver oil, and good overall nutrition as ways to stem the outbreak.
