He told MarketWatch that his addiction cost him his business (he owned two gas stations), his home and nearly any semblance of a normal life.

The Powerball jackpot has grown to $643 million -- with a cash payout of $290.6 million -- after no one won Monday night's drawing. A total that was already the highest of the year has now crept higher. The next drawing will take place Wednesday night.
