Yankees, Royals and Bubic

Kansas City Royals fans didn't have much to cheer about Wednesday. The New York Yankees broke out the lumber again in a 6-3 victory at Kauffman Stadium. And the Royals' bats? Well, they were quiet again
One of the few blemishes on Kris Bubic's stellar season for Kansas City came against the New York Yankees. The Royals' left-hander will look for a better effort at home against those same potent Yankees -- and some needed run support -- while trying for a sixth straight quality start Wednesday night.
Bubic is the 10th different Royals pitcher (17th occurrence) to receive the honor. He joins teammate Cole Ragans (Aug. 2023) on the shortlist. Bubic is also the fourth Royals left-hander to be recognized by the league.
It’s the second injured list stint of the season for the All-Star lefty. Ragans missed a few weeks between late May and early June with a groin strain. He returned for one start and was tagged for five runs in three innings against St.
In their second win against the Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt pitched six shutout innings, dropping his season ERA down to 3.60 and setting the team up for a 6-3 victory.
The Royals did manage to score before the game ended, as Salvador Perez launched a two-run homer off Mark Leiter Jr. in the ninth after a routine popup fell in the Yankees’ infield. Leiter then gave away another run with a throwing error.
Target Kris Bubic's outs prop for tonight's MLB pick and prediction for the Kansas City Royals hosting the New York Yankees for Game 2 of their series.
