The United Food Commercial Workers Local 7 said union members in Colorado have agreed to go on strike. This comes after a 2-day voting period where union members agreed to strike and after nine months of negotiations.

The union representing Safeway workers voted to authorize a strike after the company and union fail to reach an agreement on better pay, benefits for employees.

Safeway workers voted to authorize a strike if the union gives 72 hours' notice, while an agreement with King Soopers to pause a strike expires Sunday.
