Motown legend Smokey Robinson is alleged to have raped four housekeepers who worked for him over the past 20 years. His wife is alleged to have covered it up.

The famed Motown singer was sued last week by four women who worked for him as housekeepers for sexual assault and rape.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said Thursday that it has opened a criminal investigation into rape and sexual assault allegations against Smokey Robinson. The department said in a statement that its Special Victims Bureau is “actively investigating criminal allegations” against Robinson.
