A record-setting performance derailed the Michigan Panthers’ dreams of the franchise’s first title in more than 40 years, in a 58-34 loss to D.C.

Not only did quarterback Jordan Ta’amu throw for 390 yards and four touchdowns for DC in the United Football League Championship Game on Saturday night, the Defenders ball-carriers rolled up 190 yards and another four touchdowns on the ground in a record-breaking 58-34 victory over the Michigan Panthers.

Washington, D.C., has a champion on the gridiron. Unfortunately, it's not the Commanders — at least not yet — but the D.C. Defenders brought home the United Football League championship Saturday, defeating the Michigan Panthers 58-34 in St. Louis.
