A shelter-in-place was lifted at the University of Virginia and classes were canceled Tuesday after police were searching for a man accused of fleeing a traffic stop.

A shelter in place order on the University of Virginia campus has been lifted. It was issued early Tuesday morning as police responded to reports of a suspect involved in multiple car crashes near Alderman Road and McCormick Road.

The University of Virginia Police Department posted an alert on their Facebook asking all students faculty, and staff to shelter in place.

The resignation comes after an investigation into UVA Health, which began after over 100 doctors sent a letter of no confidence to UVA officials.

Dr. Mitch Rosner, a nephrologist and professor and chair of the Charlottesville university’s department of medicine, will serve as acting executive vice president for health affairs. The statement did not say whether a new or interim CEO had been named and UVA did not immediately respond to requests for more information.

UVA Health CEO Dr. Craig Kent resigned on Feb. 25 after a special meeting to discuss the findings of an independent investigation into the organization.
