The longtime Aerodrome volunteer and board member was flying a replica of a WWI Fokker D-VIII aircraft, according to the flying museum.

Cazenovia's Brian T. Coughlin died Saturday when the plane he was piloting crashed near the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, according to a museum Facebook statement.

A pilot killed during a fiery crash while performing in an air show in the Hudson Valley has been identified.The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, on Norton Road in Red Hook.

Police said Brian T. Coughlin, 60, of Cazenovia, was flying his replica Fokker D.VIII at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome when the plane started having a mechanical issue at about 3 p.m., causing the engine to catch on fire.
