The Seattle Kraken celebrated the team's first regular season opener at home and in style Tuesday morning at Climate Pledge Arena. Fans lucky enough to take the day off or play hooky (per the team's request) lined up along the barricades hours before players arrived on the blue carpet that decorated the arena's main entrance.

The Seattle Kraken once had a 2-0 lead but gave up three unanswered goals to the St. Louis Blues, losing 3-2. Jordan Eberle's first game as the captain of the Kraken didn't end the way he had hoped. The Kraken outshot the Blues 32-25 but couldn't get past Binnington after taking a 2-0 lead.

Jordan Kyrou scored twice as the St. Louis Blues rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat the host Seattle Kraken 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon in the NHL season opener for both teams.
