The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office says on Oct. 6, at around 10:30 a.m., deputies were sent to the Church at the Epicenter in reference to a welfare check after an unknown 911 call.

Jacob Tarver was arrested for falsely reporting a shooting at a Burnet County church and misleading law enforcement.

Texas man Jacob Wayne Tarver was arrested and charged with two felonies for reporting a false shooting threat at the Church at the Epicenter in Burnet.

U.S. 281, in Burnet. Deputies determined shots were fired from a member of the church's "volunteer safety team." According to the statement, the church member told the deputies on the scene he confronted two "suspicious" males outside the church,

Tarver is charged with misdemeanor false report to induce an emergency response, felony tampering or fabricating physical evidence and felony deadly conduct. He remains in the Burnet County Jail and has not had a bond set.

Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd said investigators spent most of Sunday and part of Monday searching for two men who Tarver said were involved in what turned out to be a false report. He did not provide a motive for Tarver's report but said that his mental health had been evaluated by authorities. Boyd declined to comment further about it.

The Burnet County Sheriff's Office responded to the Epicenter Church Sunday at around 10:30 a.m. after receiving reports of armed suspects outside the church. Sheriff Calvin boyd provides further details into the investigation and asks for help locating the suspects.
