Liverpool and Manchester United have both issued statements after the heavy snow prior to Sunday's clash at Anfield.

Gary Neville did his level best to get this afternoon's clash between Liverpool and Manchester United called off by shovelling snow onto the Anfield pitch. There were fears that today's game would be cancelled due to heavy snow in the north-west of England, but following two safety checks the match will still go ahead.
