House Democrats dreaming of retaking the chamber’s majority during the midterms may have found an ally in Democratic California Gavin Newsom. Newsom, a top foe of President Donald Trump with rumored 2028 ambitions,

"Maybe we'll do it here in California," he said of Trump's mandate that Texas Republicans redistrict to win five more GOP seats.

He said "good people" oppose trans kids participating in school sports and it "doesn't make you homophobic" to want to ban them.
