Kennedy Center President Richard Grenell panned an invite-only pride event that the team behind the hit musical Hamilton organized in coordination with five Democratic senators on Monday evening to protest President Donald Trump’s takeover of the national cultural center.

Spearheaded by John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., it is meant as a symbolic protest of Trump's political takeover of the Kennedy Center. Joining Hickenlooper are Sens. Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, Jacky Rosen of Nevada, Brian Schatz of Hawaii and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Democrat senators have duped the Kennedy Center into hosting a gay Pride concert after Donald Trump pledged to end its “woke programming”. The performing arts institution in Washington, DC, which is led by a senior member of Mr Trump’s administration, had apparently been told that the senators intended to put on a talent show.
