DAVIDSONVILLE, Md., June 5, 2025 — Two 18-year-olds, Jonah Michael Poole and Kylee Alyssa Dakes, face murder charges in the death of Edward Stephen Koza, 67, owner of Tropic Bay Water Gardens.

18 year-old couple, Jonah Michael Poole and Kylee Alyssa Dakes, were charged first-degree murder of Edward Stephen Koza; the 67 year-old owner of the Tropic Bay Water Garden.

 According to police, 18-year-old Jonah Michael Poole, of Davidsonville, and 18-year-old Kylee Alyssa Dakes, of Harwood were taken into custody Saturday morning at a home in Harwood.

Jonah Michael Poole and Kylee Alyssa Dakes — both 18 years old — are charged with first-degree murder, assault, and arson. Detectives say they are boyfriend and girlfriend.

Kylee Dakes and Jonah Poole, both 18, were arrested for the murder of 67-year-old Edward Stephen Koza, who was found dead in the parking lot of the store he owned.
