Newcastle star Alexander Isak cranked up his efforts to leave the club for Liverpool with an explosive statement on social media and the club have now spoken out in response

Liverpool ’s hopes of signing Newcastle striker Alexander Isak have been handed a major boost. The Premier League champions saw an opening bid worth £110million rejected by Newcastle earlier this month and the Sweden international has since been exiled from the first-team squad.

Newcastle have maintained publicly that Isak isn't for sale, but Liverpool know they are looking for two strikers for a reason. When - or perhaps if - Newcastle do, Liverpool are expected to ramp up their interest with another bid. Sources say the next offer will be a minimum £120m. At the moment, though, it's a waiting game.
