After five rounds of counting, Raina has secured 9,543 votes but is trailing behind Surinder Kumar Choudhary of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC), who has taken a strong lead with 20,955 votes. Meanwhile, the Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate, Manohar Singh, has only managed to get 1,076 votes, trailing far behind.

The National Conference would have got votes from people who had never thought to vote for it, but they voted against the BJP. It gives the party a responsibility, says Omar Abdullah.

As per the latest trends for the 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference (NC) and the Congress, which contested the elections together, are set for a comfortable majority.
